Public Art & workshops Accessible for all

Alongside my personal practice as a painter I have been teaching art & design workshops in Detroit and surrounding communities for the past 13 years. I am a proud arts educator and am humbled by the experiences I have had teaching and learning in this city. Nature Education, public arts, and advocating for art to be equitable and accessible for all are very important aspects of my teaching philosophy. I keep these beliefs top of mind when planning lessons, murals, community programs, & workshops. It is so important to engage community members in the creative process at any age and tap into the powers of visual language and authentically and unapologetically express themselves. Through public art and outreach as an artist and educator I am able to positively engage participants & viewers who encounter my work.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION: ART ALL AGES

It is so important to instill a love for art beyond the classroom. It is important to be able to interact with students in their own communities as well as in a variety of different settings, workshops, museums, camps, art parties or even just a community gathering to make art at the park.
